On Friday I went out to town with my friend R. It was super. I don’t suppose there is nothing more nice and more relaxing than to stroll through the shops, eat a good dinner and talk a lots of small things on a Friday afternoon…

So that after a tour around the shops we went to eat some place. Being Friday evening at 6 o’clock it was pretty difficult to find an empty table (without having a reservation). So we got a free place at Zupperia. Not the one I went with my family the last time, but the one at Vaskerelven street 12 in the Bergen centre.

From their menu we both chose a selection of seafood dish (Havets Frukter) 158 NOK/20 euro. Even though the restaurant was full, it did not take long until we got our food, about 20 minutes. The seafood was served with a fresh toasted bread and butter. They were delicious with a red sauce, a bit spicy, but full of flavour and good. We asked for a second round of bread just to finish the sauce :). For the desert we asked for a Crème Brulee, 85 NOK/11 euro, which unfortunately was not good at all and it is a big minus for their services. The cream was not at all a cream, it was a cheesy egg with looooooots of water. They should have somehow filtered the cheesy egg with a spoon from the water, the consistence was far from what it should have been, and when you ate it, it gave a terrible nauseous sensation.

Conclusion: I gave another chance to the Zupperia restaurants, but the conclusion is the same: good atmosphere, the waiters were nice (they let us change the table with a more quiet one), but it was difficult for them to answer what the desert of the day was, good food, plenty and cheap, the desert was bad and expensive. The place is perfect if you do not have a better alternative. From me Zupperia gets 3.5 lilies.
