In una din zilele cat am stat in Cluj am vizitat si incercat centrul Eco-Spa Orhideea situat in cartierul Grigorescu, pe strada Taietura Turcului nr 2-4.

Dupa tratamentul pentru fata am mers in alta camera de terapie unde ma astepta Cristina.

In one of the days I spent in Cluj, I visited and tried out the Eco-Spa Orhideea centre, located in the Grigorescu neighbourhood, on  Taietura Turcului street 2-4. I made my appointment by phone ever since I was in Bergen. From their October offers available on the website I chose the following:

– Body regeneration treatment – 70 RON, ca 15 Euros (40% off)

– Semi-treatment GUINOT for facial regeneration – 80 RON, ca. 18 Euros (35% off)

I went to the Orhideea centre on a Friday morning, so before and after my visits at the MoniK centre. I found the location quite easily, I found a parking place along the street which was easy because it was not crowded at 9 o´clock in the morning. I got there in time, where they were already waiting for me at the reception. I got to taste a good coffee, and after that they showed me where I was to undress and place my clothes in a cabinet with a lock. I got single use slippers and lingerie and a large towel which I wrapped around myself.

My session started with the semi-treatment for face regeneration executed by Emese, which seamed a really delicate, nice, elegant and communicative person. On the Orhideea site this treatment is described as: The treatment nourishes and regenerates the complexion if attacked by the sun or pollution. After the delicate make-up removal, a peeling is done which removes the dead skin cells and the impurities from the skin surface, and a hyperbaric oxygen peeling to stimulate the circulation and collagen production, then a facial massage is done which activates the micro-circulation, regenerative masks and deep hydrating creams are applied on the complexion giving it a healthy and glowing look. For this treatment, professional deluxe products are used from the Guinot Paris line. This micro-treatment was excellent, Emese used lots of creams, masks, scrubbing and peeling creams, and so on, all of them from Guinot and which seemed to have an extraordinary quality. All the treatment was applied very well, I do not think there was anything to have bothered me or that seemed out of place. On the contrary, Emese had such fine and delicate hands that felt super nice on the face or during a massage. She told me the same thing about my dry face and that I should take better care and hydrate it more. I got also some nice words about my clean complexion, without black spots :). I felt embarrassed to tell her that Bianca from MoniK did a complete face cleansing treatment a day before. In the end I felt bad that they did not have any Guinot products for sale, I would have bought a few. Next time when I will call for an appointment will ask if I can order a few products to try at home as well.

After the facial treatment, I went to another therapy room where Cristina was waiting for me. She was to apply the body regeneration treatment. On the Orhideea website, this treatment is described like this: A special treatment for skin regeneration after it was exposed to the harmful summer sun rays, which consists of 30 minutes of organic peeling (essential oils of mint and rosemary, brown sugar and an exotic plant mix) and 30 minutes of massage with a cream for deep hydration with collagen and liposomes. During the relaxing massage, a skin DermoLED treatment is done, using the red colour for the activation of blood and lymphatic circulation.

Cristina started the treatment with a super scrub done with a massage oil with an orange aroma mixed with brown sugar, bran, sea salt and plant salts. This scrub was applied on the whole body (up to the neck) and she insisted well on the heels and foot soles. Cristina did the best and most efficient scrub I got in my life, up to now compared to those I got in Bergen. After the scrub I took a shower in a bathroom next door, which was very clean and I could use a shower gel to remove all the remaining oil, bran and salts.

After the scrub, Cristina, who is also a kineto-therapist, did a very good and relaxing body massage. Unfortunately I do not remember getting the skin DermoLED treatment for the activation of the blood and lymphatic circulation, as it was provided in the treatment description  and included in the session cost :(.

In the end I was lead to the the dressing room, where I got dressed, fixed my hair in the mirror and washed my hands. As a minus I could say that they did not have paper or regular towels to dry my hands, so I had to use the towel I was dressed with during the session, as it was, full of salts bran and oils… Anyway, the place was very clean, well ventilated, well lit, and it shows that they have a maximum interest in keeping it so. I have not tried yet the sauna and jacuzzi, maybe next time. What I did not find very inspired was the centre logo which I guess wants to show 3 small orchids… to me it seems more like father, mother and baby crow passed out on a wire :). It maybe needs to be reconsidered, my 2 cents of course.

The total price: 150 RON, ca. 33 Euros or 270 NOK.

Conclusions: Eco-Spa Orhideea from Cluj is a place where you can relax, try different new things, especially since they have treatments for couples, parties with friends or special packages for brides, grooms, pregnant women, hair dresser, cosmetics, different body treatments, massages and body wraps. Eco-Spa Orhideea is somewhat different from MoniK. MoniK seems more like a body remodelling centre with specific and last generation devices where you need a specialist to recommend different treatments in order to get the final results you want. Whereas Orhideea is more like the spa centres in Bergen, with different types of massages, body wraps, peelings, cosmetics and hairdressing. I felt really well there, even though I did not get everything I paid for, and even if I did not get that “at home” feeling I found at MoniK. Eco-Spa Orhideea gets 4.5 lilies from me and I plan to go back there, around Christmas, because one present for my husband will be the Spa Love Story. Does that sound good or what :)?!
