– cand ma spal cu el simt ca imi face parul foarte moale si parca nu mai simt daca e sa nu curat, oricat il clatesc. Parca as da direct cu balsamul de par, cam asta e senzatia;

– samponul miroase foarte frumos, a migdale si ciocolata, iar mirosul persista in par;

– samponul are un flacon frumos si util, lichidul curge cu usurinta din el (fiind destul de fluid), iar flaconul e maro-transparent si se vede cu usurinta prin el, astfel ca iti dai seama usor cat sampon mai este in flacon;

– samponul iti hraneste si iti face parul foarte moale, placut, si stralucitor;

– samponul nu ii da volum parului;

– parul meu e destul de moale si cand e curat, parca dupa ce il spal cu samponul Brilliant Brunette parul meu e si mai moale si e greu de aranjat sau sa ii dau un pic de volum. Cred ca samponul ar fi mult mai potrivit pentru spalarea parului brunet/saten vopsit sau suvitat;

English version

Today I was thinking to start telling you a bit about my hair and the shampoo I use. I have dyed my hair ever since I was 19-20 years old, so along the time I have had all kinds of colours from blonde, to brown, to red and with stripes of different shades. About a year or so ago, while talking to my husband about my hair, I was thinking what colour should I put on now (being blonde at that time, duh :D). Well at some point he asks me “Anyway, what is your natural colour after all?” Then I realised that my husband has never seen me not-dyed, so he does not know my natural colour. It was one thing that he did not know, but an even bigger issue was that neither I did not remember exactly how it was… So I decided in that moment to let my hair grow naturally to find out again how it looked like. Slowly my hair grew and I got rid of the old dyed bit and now I have a natural colour of dark brown, a lot more dark than my mother remembered, but it does not matter, I love it the way it is and enjoy the fact that I do not have white hair 😀

Anyway, my hair is not dyed at the moment, about mid sized. The type of my hair being oily, I have to wash it every two days (let’s say max 3, in exceptional cases when I use some trick to delay it with a day, I will come back to this in another post). When I wash my hair I like to feel that the shampoo really washes my hair, to feel that it is clean and that it “squeaks” after I rinse it. Not all shampoos suit me, so I must seek and find the right shampoo for my type of hair. I sometimes use hair masks and conditioners, but after each use I must rinse the hair really really good, otherwise I feel that the hair remains loaded, that it is not clean and the day after I have to wash it again.

Now, about the shampoo from the John Frieda collection I can say that I bought it from Paris and that it costed a little more than other available shampoos (the price was around 8-10 Euros, as far as I remember). John Frieda is a famous English stylist, founder of a hair salon and a product line made for haircare. Presently his products are appreciated by stylists from different countries, and his products are sold in different shops in US, Mexico, Canada, in different European countries, Australia, New Zealand, etc. John Frieda’s collection has different products for haircare: hair dyes, shampoos and conditioners for all colour types (red, blonde, brown), volumizers, products for thin hair, and so on. All the products in the collection and their details can be found here.

What they say: The Brilliant Brunette collections contains different products for different shades of natural brown hair, dyed brown or striped hair. The Brilliant Brunette shampoo with active nourishment has a scent of almonds and chocolate; it is a moisturising shampoo for soft, dry and fragile hair; it can highlight different shades of brown; it can give brilliance to the hair. After a regular use of the shampoo, the brown hair will have a silky brilliant texture. The shampoo ingredients are many and with even more complicated names, and you can find them here if you are curious.

What I say:

– when I wash my hair with it I feel that it makes my hair very soft and I do not feel very well if it is clean or not, no matter how much I rinse it. It is as if I use directly a conditioner, it is about the same feeling;

– the shampoo smells very nice, of almonds and chocolate and the odour last in the hair for some time;

– the shampoo has a nice and useful tube, the liquid flows easily out of it (being fairly thin), and it is a brown-translucent tube through which you can see and find out easily how much shampoo you have left;

– the shampoo nourishes the hair and makes it soft, pleasant and shinning;

– the shampoo does not give volume to the hair;

– my hair is fairly soft when it is clean, it is as if after I wash it with the Brilliant Brunette shampoo the hair is even more soft and hard to give a shape or to give it a little volume. I guess the shampoo would suit more the dyed or striped brown hair;

– the shampoo is very nourishing like a hair mask or like a conditioner, so I have started to use it more like a conditioner :D. I do it like this: I wash my hair two times with the shampoo I know it cleans my hair as I want and then apply the Brilliant Brunette shampoo on the tip of the hair, massage a little and then rinse with lots of water. In the end my hair is clean, well washed, but also shinning, nourished and silky.

Conclusion: Considering that the Brilliant Brunette shampoo form the John Frieda collection does not give any volume to my hair and that I use it more like a conditioner/hair mask, it gets 4 lilies from me!
